Default Are Starbucks and McDonalds giving all their money to Israel?

I just got a text message from a friends saying that Starbucks and McDonalds are giving all their money to Israel this weekend.

Does anyone know if this is true??

starbucks and mcdonalds are not giving away all their money to israel....
many US companies have business links with israel and may even donate to israel..

In the list ppl put out - which companies to boycott - I never see one of the biggest contributors to israel - guess who that is - Google .... who has two major research labs in israel....(note google also owns youtube - who also has research labs in israel)...

I've boycotted Starbucks for years. Ever since I first tried one of their ridiculously over-priced, second-rate beverages

My little espresso machine at home is much better and I get to choose what I put in it

Multi-national corporations don't give any of their money away. Let alone all of it.

They make donations for tax purposes, or PR.

They don't just give it away. If they are giving it to Israel, it is because Israel is giving them something for it. Which works out to effectively buying something from the Israeli government.

Yeah, I never went to Starbucks (I don't drink coffee)

And I avoid McDonalds unless there is literally no other reasonable option.

They are terrible corporations regardless of any Israeli relations.

I think this is one of the main reasons why countries are reluctant to ostracise Israel. They also own "Check Point" which is the provider of 95% of firewall software.

So israel has manouvered itself so that it seems indespensible.

not sure how we will get around this one, but where there is a will there is a way

Erm it's hard to say....but I think it's likely to be false. I mean look at it logically, over the past week or so Israel has been condemned all over the world, they're not exactly in everyones good books now are they. If you were a major company (like McDonalds), the last thing you're gonna do is donate money to an entity which is being reviled by nearly everyone out there.

McDonalds will be stupid if they openly declare their loyalty in this conflict, because whoever they choose to support, they're gonna be denounced by the other side.

I've recieve a few text messages today with the claim:

'Mcdonalds have announced they will be giving all their profits to Israel until next saturday'.

Pfftt! Come on people, as if Israel need charity. They're backed by the most powerful nation in the world, they're pockets are deep and full as it is. Whilst I'm not dismissing the possibility of their (McDonalds) acquaintance with Israel in the past, I think in this particular case, the claims are false.

I once went into a Starbucks in Manchester about 4 years ago, determined to see what they're about and try a latte. I was first in the queue but none of the assistants were attending to me. In the time-gap I managed to scan the price list and to my horror I found that the drink I was about to order was £3.50. I quietly slipped out of the shop, never again to return.
