Ramadam is a month of.......you all know so no point.
Could it be used as a tool to help Islam's image in the UK?
Imagine press images showing gangs of Muslims going around feeding the elderly or homeless.
Opinions?

Use their words against them.EDL Tommy Robinson beaten by gang of Muslims
Any other questions?
I was worried where it was going when I hit the word gangs.
Still, Ramadan in the UK is almost a completely private event where we jovially talk to our selves about how great it is we can go 18 hours without eating and drinking and doing all the things we should be doing anyway all year round.
Would be nice if we were smart enough to use this time for political advantage, but we are far too dumb for anything that complicated as getting some good stories in the media through being nice to other people.

Tabloid Editor:Muslims doing good things for a month??
It doesn't make good copy!
Bin it!
On a more serious note we should use Ramadan as a good dawah opportunity. These guys look as if theyve got the right idea: iftar2012.com
Just thought.
I'll bet a pound to a pinch of <self moderated>, I have to do the post holiday speech at the school festival.
Last year's theme was inter religious tolerance; wonder what I can go for this year.

This will definitely be the thought in the red tops - possibly minus the Mirror - and the normal right wing black tops. But possibly, I could imagine it being published in the the quality papers. Like Fred said, maybe a free curry and the chance to tag along with a group of young Muslims might be handy. But no point doing it for one year and thinking that's it, job done. It'd be great if it was a yearly thing in Ramadhan, maybe some organisation is already doing it.
Don't see why Ramadan ought to be singled out.
As someone already mentioned, giving and being good/charitable is something a (Muslim) person should strive to do and increase it in Ramadan- that is all.
Why go and get some sort of 'image' so it looks like a few are doing good- the work is done for Allah and fasting is rewarded by Allah- period.
Fair enough- but there are some fantastic images we see during Ramadan across the world, mostly about unity and being one ummah.
That itself should be used to show that it is not always about wars and negativity etc.
Islam itself is perfect but its believers are not- it is these few who create the image of Islam the world sees.
There will still be killings and mayhem in some parts of the world despite the holy month.![]()
I don't think Muslims would use that term in helping non Muslims- I for sure would not come home to my wife and say 'I helped to feed a few kuffar today'
You are using the very negative terminology others use whilst at the same time attempting to give the whole aspect a positive feel?!

i wonder what non-muslims make of the people who fast for a month but gain weight as if they've been eating xmas turkey every day?
