    Default London Mayoral Election 2012

i suppose mpacuk will encourage londoners to vote for ken livingstone on the 3rd may?

looks like the muslim vote is being taken more seriously after the bradford result so the fear-mongerers have started early:

I know this is a wild idea but perhaps the parties could find someone with interest in the people rather than their own ego.
You know, someone with a heart bigger than their gob.

    It is a Zionist blog.

We are all part of JL's weird and wonderful conspiracy theory.

Invasion of the Zionist account snatchers!

You have been replaced by a hacker who just so happens to post pictures from Indonesia.

I'm currently being sodomised by a zionist???

And Nasman, well Nasman is just Nasman and I see nothing wrong in that but, apparently according to some he is acting weird at the moment and may have been hacked too!

Must stick in certain peoples throats that Muslims and Jews can have the same concerns, points of view or opinions on subjects.

Unfortunately those same people are the ones who become abusive and rude when you will not conform to their point of view or express a difference of opinion.
The term "agree to disagree" does not enter their vocabulary. You are either with them or against them. This type of adversarial attitude does them no favours and epitomises how Muslims are often portrayed in the press.

Personally, although I am no Londoner and my opinion is worth nought, I prefer Boris over Ken in terms of what they have brought to the role.
    Just monkeying around.

I'll be voting for Ken but I do hope Boris wins again, he's doing a good job as mayor.

the newsnight debate forced out an agreement between ken and boris to show their tax returns - now george osborne is getting on the transparency bandwagon, not that it will make any difference to anyone or anything:

mehdi hassan @ the guardian says to vote ken:

Ken is far from the perfect candidate. He can be boorish, arrogant, hypocritical. Nonetheless, he has a long record of standing up for the poorest Londoners, whereas the current incumbent's defence of London from the cuts has been more Maginot Line than Stalingrad.

The truth is that Boris may be the master of the quick quip and the funny photo op but he is, fundamentally, out of touch; uninterested in the plight of those who don't look, sound or live like him and his fellow millionaires.

Boris is the bankers' nominee; the candidate of*the 1%, not the 99%. Ordinary Londoners deserve better.

The Boris and Ken show was on Black Britain today. Boris wants to keep the police right to stop and search.

I would like the Met disbanded, it is corrupt and rotten to the core, they need to start from scratch.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but I'm afraid it's the type of people the job attracts, I'm resonably sure that if they didn't join the police force they'd have become criminals themselves which many off course are only they use the fact that they are able to hide behind the law to commit their corrupt criminal acts.

mpacuk comes out in favour of ken but odds say boris is favourite - let's see if the muslim vote can help change that tomorrow:

Anyone who actually lives in London will know how expense transport has become here. Anyway I think Boris have proved himself to be a bit Islamophobic. Lets hope the BNP dont get any seats. Always good info on here about candidates - some shockers actually

it was closer than expected, boris had 51.5% versus ken's 48.5% of the vote... with that margin, the muslim vote would have made a difference if they all bothered to visit the polls.

a smug post about daring to ignore the power of the jewish vote can be found here:

I'm sure Johnson being voted in was a case of Londoners and the chunk of the UK continuing to laugh AT him and tbh, he's a media creation and more "popular" rather than any strong political substance IMO.

I'd like to think that Muslims voted - even though admittedly I didn't vote in my local area due to lack of enthusiasm this time round - but it's a case of everyone voting tbh. But If Muslims did vote, hopefully it was for Ken.
