we ended up with a different package than we paid for. looks like they sold us what they hoped having but didnt have Allahu Alim.

we looked for agency that could offer return flights london-cairo-madina but only now were informed there is no direct flight cairo-madina, therefore the group will fly london- madina and we were left with lengthier (19days instead of 14- its a big deal for me as i still breastfeed and wanted to maintain lactation), more expensive tour and we will have to travel alone.

    Alhamdulillah..

I'm really sorry to hear that.

They told me that flights are London-Istanbul-Madina. I'm on the three-week package. I paid about £3000

Why do you have to travel alone and why do you have a stay longer than what you paid for?

    It sounds upsetting for you.

we were told that since we have to take flight london-cairo- jeddah, there is no transport from jeddah to medina since 23rd of October, therefore we have to fly on the 22nd at the latest instead of 27th. and pay for the hotel too. we paid around 2600£ each but this isnt yet a final price as we dont know what we will be charged for hotel and how much will it cost to get to madina from jeddah.

we will have to travel alone as the group doesnt fly via cairo and their flight destination is madina, not jeddah.

Jeddah to Medina is SAR140 (approx £23) via Saudi Airlines on Economy class (SAR320 Business class). You can book this yourself at the airport with relative ease. Flight time is one hour approx. Then SAR30 via taxi from airport to Haram Shareef (or your hotel); bus is SAR 5-10.
Taxi/Limosine will be around SAR300-400 from Jeddah to Medina and about 3-4 hour journey depending on speed. There is also a coach service but I cannot recall the price.
Take a a couple of photocopies of your passport.

If you are going London-Jeddah-Medina you will need to decide where to start your ihram depending on which type Hajj you are doing.
May Allah SWT accept your Hajj.

    An excellent suggestion.

    Assalamu Aleykum,

There was no transport from Jeddah to Medina whatsoever exept by plane which was 5 times more expensive than the price you've mentioned... And we had to wait for the flight for 18hours...

We tried to find buses, cars, taxis- but there was nothing and pilgrims are not allowed to leave the airport teritory. We were stuck. We asked and we begged but there was nothing. All transport was directed to take crowds to Mecca. They didn't spare even one bus for us (not only me and my husband, there were a group of people in our situation).

We were very short of money, we put all our savings to this trip. But alhamdullillah Allah swt put barakah in our money and even though we had to buy plane tickets, we had enough even for presents.

Sounds a real carry on, Selva. In the future inshaA there'll be a train service from Mak-Jed-Mad. Hopefully that'll improve things for Hajjis. Hope it won't be restricted to Arabs only .
