I don't know what mosques you mean but a big one in Birmingham, had leaflets for people (youvote) every day for people, scholars verdicts pinned up, TV cameras documenting things, two talks on Friday (attached to the khutbah - just before) and voting on therir timetable. All this but the most important aspect missing, what is it that the people who are trying to win you vote believe in ?

tut, this mosque sounds amazing, even though they were missing the most imporant bit out at least they are doing this!
