    Default The Shepherd's Path

    Al Maghrib Intitute

If you took an epic journey into the life of a man who transformed humanity, what would you discover?

What would you unquestionably miss if you did not?

Muhammad is not the father of any of you; He is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets – Qur’an

“If there was no miracle except the Seerah of the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, then it would suffice as the greatest miracle!” - Ibn Hajar

    Default Mohammed.

Until such time the muslim community goes all out to spread His (Mohammed's) good news, as christians do with the Messiah, then frankly I cannot see how the non muslim world would be able to perceive the shepards path otherwise.

A good example would to make a movie or something along the lines of a documentary. Or even promote the hadiths.

There are no known records on the life and times of Mohammed other than the Hadiths which sadly, Islam does very little to promote as a source of reference.

after the Qur'an it is exactly the sunnah of the Prophet pbuh aka 'hadith' that is used as references...sunnah being the living example of the Qur'an.

How else would you like the records to be as 2north....? pictures? photos

About a year or 2 ago, when i started to study Islam, I went to a bookshop to find any literature about Mohammed. Waterstones it was. Do you think I could find anything? No sir - zip.

Now in your post you mention something about sunna.

My friend, I doubt whetehr any non muslim out there knows what it is about and what it means. When I hear the word sunnah, I and most non muslims relate it to the sunnis and the shias. Whether I'm right or wrong we non muslims know very little about these things. Why? Because apart from the Wikipidea there is no other litereture about it.

what about the large volumes of Hadiths 'sir'?

Even the compilation of the shias?

i have a large volume of them, now why not you?

edit: amazon, darusallam publications etc etc...the net is your oyster...

edit: when i meant 'even the shia compilation' [as someone asked...] i meant the shias source of hadiths [which obviously differs from sunnis]

Amazon, Waterstones, Borders, many other mainstream booshops all stock books about the life of the final and greatest prophet(PBUH&HF).

What do you think reverts like my husband read initially before they reverted to Islam and started using Muslim bookshops?

Well there you go. This is the first I've heard of it. Thanks. With Anthony Quinn, on of the best known actors, I will endeavour to get hold of it.

    "Seek and ye shall find"

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Islam-Short-...8957555&sr=8-5

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Muhammad-Bio...8957555&sr=8-6

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Muhammad-Lif...8957576&sr=8-6

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Muhammad-Mes...8957576&sr=8-7

ALL "mainstream books" from a mainstream bookshop. It took me all of two minutes to find them.

People have to WANT the truth before they can find it.

I would recommend you buy the shamail from waterstones...it is the description of the Prophet SAW and His Sunnah (i.e. the way he lived) In general..it is a collection of specific hadiths...by the great hadith scholar Imam Tirmidhi.

Not very pricey either..I take the one with 1000 odd pages also contain the Arabic of the hadiths (this one also has commentary on the hadiths - the copy I have) and the other only English.

Go to an Islamic bookshop instead and I'm sure you'll see tons of books about the sunnah and hadith....
