A friend of the wife dropped a whole lot of food over last night:
    • Dates
    • Chicken Kebabs (flat discs)
    • Lamb samosas
    • Chicken Spring Rolls
    • Chicken Biryani
    • Fruit Chaat including masala

Now you know why I'm overweight.

My BMI is high. Need to lose at least 3 stones to have an acceptable BMI score.

I had grilled tomatoes on toast today with lots of salt and pepper and a sweet potato. Strange Iftar but it was left overs from my kids meal. I really can't face a proper meal, which is great because I am losing a little weight this Ramadan Alhamdulilah.

Goalshan I put on weight the last years, I beleive because of wearing abaya, you can get away with so much and I let it creep on slowly but surely. The end of last year I decided it had to go and have lost 3 stone, so it can be done, seeing another pound gone when you stand on the weighing scales is such a pleasure and even when I fall off the wagon for a few days and eat stuff I shouldn't when I see a couple of pounds go on I stop again.

Losing weight is really really healthy and it does wonders for us mentally not just physically.

How are the brothers going to be ready for jihad if they are not fit? I look at the brothers in the Gulf and especially the teenagers and I think McDonalds already defeated the Ummah.

beeb had a documentary about the benefits of fasting last night - should be mandatory viewing for ramadan binge-eaters.

I find it hard to eat @ suhoor- me and the Mrs have been on cereals and then either a slice of toast or a tea cake with decaf tea- very similar to last year.

I've got a journey tomorrow then a training course so deciding if will fast or make up. Heart wants to fast but head is saying don't.

I stay awake until suhoor so I get kinda hungry again.

One of my friends is travelling alot for a placement and she ends up quite cranky as a result. Personally, I know I would be lazy in other things and get irritable so I would probably take the concession.

Iftar today was chips, some veg and a panini. Unfortunately I think I am getting a bit greedy as times goes on.

I did after much deliberation- probably wise as had to set off 05.15 for a nearly 3hr drive and then a 7hr training course/meeting. Basically drank most of the day- tea/water/juice making up for the lack of liquids when fasting.

    Iftar last night was:
    Corn
    2 small chicken kebabs
    -----------------------
    1 roti and lentils
    tea and biscuits.

i think it depends on the person i can eat quite a bit at certain times of the month and then after that i eat very little for weeks so it balances itself out. also i have always been quick to burn it off and now i have two children as well so that requires energy which requires some fuel. I just wouldn't survive the day on dates and fruit running after two little ones and trying to keep them busy all day. Although obviously your metabolism slows down with age and so as i shall be hitting the big 30 will need to eat less.

    Pizza.
I ordered from the local pizza hut who guarantee 30 min or less delivery time.
40 mins later, we had pizzas and a voucher for a free one next time because they were late.

    I love Pizza hut.

I'll bet that's really bugged fat people.

Pizza hut UK had 'all you can eat " offers at lunch time.
I can eat for England (Or maybe Indonesia) so I took them up on it.
Just short of 4 medium pizzas is my record. (+salad and many, many drinks)
