    Default Horizon- 9/11 Skyscraper Program.

This was on last night and had Professor Jose Torero of the University of Edinburgh's Fire Safety Engineering Centre (who has spent the last 10 years developing a system "Firegrid") spent some time talking about how the towers collapsed on 9/11.

It demonstrated that Steel looses cohesion at 600 degrees and that the lack of safety struts in the twin towers meant that a fire on two floors would inevitably result in the weight of the building collapsing in on itself.

He further went on to say that nearly all skyscrapers have the same problem and that any fire over two or more floors would produce a similar collapse.

Does that mean there was never ever a fire in a skyscraper that spanned two floors before? If there was, did the skyscraper collapse? When did that happen?

He meant skyscraper in the modern sense of those built to move in the wind where ther are less Trusses and a great degree of weight. Petronas Twin Towers etc.

As to whether he is right or not, I guess its only a matter of time before we find out.

    In the meantime

Lots a stuff on that horizon website for conspiracy/anti conspiracy types. eg/

Umm, dunno, I don't think so. Though my kids were a distraction. Basically the floors and ceilings buckled under the heat which led to them sagging, this then dragged in the outer walls.

You can watch it on podcast:

and here for the man who built the twin towers:

ok guys i'm gona stay on ground.... this is scary... i always fear that building so many heavy buildings on my island, that it would eventually collapse because the ground that its built on is not strong enough!!! is that rational or should i just forget about it??? (put in mind that these building are built on buried shores)

is this an even a bigger problem??

He might be a professor of engineering but his professional and seemingly logical analysis goes against everything conspiracy theorists want to hear, therefore he must be wrong!

Also you have to remember that in chemistry there is no such thing as an 'in between state of matter' - steel is either solid as the day it was founded, or its liquid. Theres no such thing as 'weakend' 'bendy' steal, its either rock hard, or liquid. I know this for a fact because I studied GCSE combined science and I occaisionally paid attention in class therefore I must know what im talking about.
