Smile Welcome back your brother Nasser from the American Gulag in Guantanamo Bay!

    as-salaamu 'alaykum -

al-hamdu-lillaah it gladdens all of us at cageprisoners.com to annouce the impending release of our brother Nasser al-Mutairi from Guantanamo Bay.

You can find the news here:-Kuwaiti To Be Released From Guantanamo Bay Prison

Click here to go to the special message thread at the cageprisoners forums.

I request the brothers and sisters on this forum who have some kind of standing and reputation in their community to lead by example by leaving a message.

The brother is a English teacher so all messages can be left in English.
Uploaded cards and pictures are welcome too.

    Jazaakumullaah khayr for your support.

Below is the text from our site:

26 year old Nasser Nijer Naser al Mutairi is one of 12 Kuwaitis who have been held in Guantanamo since its inception in January 2002. He was teaching English in Afghanistan when he was captured three years ago. Prior to his detention, Nasser was a teacher and minister who worked for the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. He left his home in October of 2000 in order to minister in the small mosques and schools of Pakistan's poorer regions. He is a member of the Tableeghi sect, an order of apolitical and peaceful missionaries who travel around the world spreading the word of Islam through education and good works.

In October of 2002, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Nasser's family that he had taken ill and was in a hospital in Kandahar. It is not known why or how he was deported from the hospital to Guantanamo Bay. In fact, very little is known of his condition, other than that he has asked his parents to contact the Red Cross on his behalf. It has also been reported that Nasser spent some time in the clinic in Guantanamo and was unable to straighten his back.

Usually we tell Muslims to sign something as a complaint or condolence - here is something positive.

Please leave a message at the thread.

The reason why we are doing this before his actual release is so that he will have a long list of well wishers from his brothers and sisters.

The response for our last appeals for brothers just released was very poor and we are determined not to repeat that. (Try to put youself in the position - as hard as it is - of one of these brothers who after all he has been through finds only 5 people interested in him).

We're aiming for fifty messages for brother Nasser - tell your friends, annouce it at your circles, tell the imam of your local masjid, email your friends.

Please would the MPAC admin put it in their next email - jazaakumullaah khayr.

May Allah reward this site for their fantastic job - they have shown if Muslims get together and do something, then with the permission of Allah sucesses are not impossible.
