    Hey I am not alone!

Could be the last one today we will only know this evening.

How do you decide Eid in your area? Do you follow central mosque and K.S.A. or British Moon Sighting?

mmmm suppose you may feel tired but letting your employers down is not nice.

Have you got days off for Eid?

nope, they will only let a couple of us off for eid - the rest have to decide to risk bunking or turn up at work as usual.

    how about you?

I am a housewife now but when I did work they did always give religiously based holiday requests priority and since I was the only muslim and everyone else wanted christmas off there was never any problem

AA JL - my intention was (and still is) to take on the 6 days of Shawwal. The thought of fasting through work puts me off a little, so it leaves the weekend. Yet at the weekend, some travel plan comes up which makes me put back the fasting. Another thing is we think there's plenty of the month left, when in fact it will pass by very quickly.

InshaA hope to fit them in sometime.

    salam,

I have been told if one has fardh fasts to make up, the 6 shawwal ones should not take precedence over the fardh ones?

inshAllah i shall start fasting during the weekends... week days drain me :l

i heard the same, i didn't know this until this year though
would it be bad to wait until december [when the days are shortest] to make them up?

well I am fasting and this is my fifth day of making up ramadan days. I thought they come first cos they are the fardh days but I may be wrong. Anyway I intend to do the 6 days of shawwal straight after I finish these ones Inshallah. I don't find missing my cups of tea easy so I am just gritting my teeth and ploughing ahead.

I keep waking up at 4 a.m. cos it became habit so thought I might as well continue even though thats too early these days.

Fardh comes first but If you can't make up for Ramadhan and fast the 6 days of Shawal in Shawal because you have missed so many days from Ramadhan then it is okay to fast the 6 days first and then make up for Ramadhan.

just say if you can't fast for a day (eg need to take medican) u can fast for a day after ramadan to make up for missing it.
    does that make more sense?
