    salaam

for those doubting the sincerity of our saudi friends

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/5215160.stm

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have stopped Iran using their air space to send humanitarian relief to Lebanon, media in Iran have said.
Iran's health ministry has been collecting supplies to send to the Lebanese people, the reports said.

But the goods had to be sent via Dubai to Syria because of objections by other countries in the region.

This may fuel Iranian anger against nations they feel have not done enough to support Hezbollah against Israel.

    'Passivity'

Iran's Labour news agency quotes the head of the country's emergency services as complaining that Turkish officials prevented Iran from using their air space for humanitarian aid destined for Lebanon.

The same official said three Iranian ambulances had already been despatched to Lebanon and soon another 20 would follow.

Another news agency quotes the security chief of Iran's health ministry as saying both Turkey and Saudi Arabia had prevented Iran from using their air space for three plane-loads of medicine.

The Iranian health ministry says it sent a group of health experts to Lebanon to assess the situation but Hezbollah has told the group it has enough food and medicine to last for five months.

Iran has already complained bitterly about Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the Gulf states which it says have caused divisions in the Muslim world and failed to do enough to support Hezbollah.

Daily newspaper editorials bemoan what they call the passivity of Arab leaders.

The speaker of the Iranian parliament recently called on Arab people in those countries to rise up against their governments.

Throwing money at problems hoping that this will make things better. This is the al Saud position. Sure, they will offer money AFTER disaster strikes, without doing anything to ensure that it doesn't happen in the first place.

In fact, their position is resonant of the narrow minded and ignorant attitude of many Muslims. We're all willing to dig into our pockets and pay charity without giving a thought that we should be doing something to ensure that disaster doesn't happen in the first place.

The Saudi cowards should get on the American planes they spend the oil cash on, and go and bomb Tel Aviv. That will speak more than all the money they throw at problems.

And Saladin, the zionists are laughing because now they're getting us to pay for their bombings. That's all the al Sauds are capable of. The people of that region haven't really progressed from the days when all they did was scrabble around in the sand. The Iranians are spot on with their criticisms.

The Saudi family are a joke and this so called money donation does not provide a solution to the problem. How can they refuse to let Iranian planes enter their air space. Its a disgrace!!!!

They (Saudis, Gulf States) have invested Billions upon billions in Lebanon, they are seeing there investment go down the drain, the Israeli are stupid in what they are destroying Lebanon, they very well know the damage they are causing to the rest of the Middle Eastern Economy, by there actions.

Also let’s not forget it was the same House of Saud that gave the Russia Billions to not Veto the UN resolution in relation to Gulf War I, back in 1991.

There is much tension between saudi and Iran - at the moment, shi'ite are becoming very strong and powerful - right across the middle east - the wahabi//salafi are becoming weaker and weaker - that is why saudi has spent bllions over the last year on milatary equipment - saudi feel threaten by Iran!!

When Abdullah "threatens" war who does he think will fight this war against Israel? Egypt and Syria would get licked in probably the same manner as 1967 if they tried to take on Israel. He surely can't mean his own armed forces will act. They may have bought plenty of US arms but they probably can't use the equipment even if they wanted to.

He would probably release the ghazis from the jails and call them Mujahideen again and send them off to the Israel.

The cowardly Saudi regime is a laughing stock in the Middle East (and in the wider world, although the non-Muslim countries don't say that publicly (for fear of losing some very lucrative contracts ) ).

Astagfir Allah bro., I'm no great lover of the Saud, but let's remember Hagar/Ishmael who scraped around in the same sand and found zamzam, alhamdulillah.

BTW, I'm not sure if the Saudi military is regarded as one of the best.... (but who knows... )

And it's extremely unlikely that a foreign power will hold 'hostage' the 2 Holy Cities.

Expect the end of the World if that happens.

I diagree with the Americans with poodle not attacking the two Holy cities, simply because they have destroyed a unreported & countless Mosques, graveyards & libraries in the past. The Saudi military is untested, but it has some of the latest weaponry, its soldiers are mainly British trained & remember what is happening in S Lebanon that the israelis are failing when it comes to fighting on the ground.
