well it just seems so wasteful that someone with the passion and desire to fight
to pick themself up from the street and put themself somewhere high up on the world
does it for no real reason
he is just destroying himself
mashing his head up
turning his brain to mush from outside in
there is another thread someone in here
discussing how halal boxing really is.....
i'll be back

i think the old thread may have been archived ....
anyway here are some links

http://www.islamonline.net/livefatwa/english/Browse.asp?hGuestID=4qVv3G (about 1/3 way down)
i am undecided on this matter myself
as you dont really see many ppl making a hoo haa about it
so i gues it cant be mega haram
this guy wouldnt get on the islam channel if it was

For me it is haraam, to take it up as a professional sport - that also means the earning are all haram. There are several boxers who after converting gave up boxing, but none are that famous.
Er.... Forgive my ignorance but who is Danny Williams??
he is a british boxer, who converted to islam, who won a fight on saturday and in the past beat Tyson.

I heard that they were hugging eachother for most of the fight.
I also heard that Prince Naseem was there and that he's put on a lot of weight....?
Morning Dew
21-12-2005, 09:37 AM
A lot of hugging going on, much to my dismay.
As for the A8, there was a huge MIGHT in there...
Prince Naz was there with the usual talk. He did say he supports that kid...what's his face...as he's a "Muslim brother". Bless..

amir khan ....he chatted about.......naz also said he would be back in the ring next year.......and was very happy to see another "muslim brother" ie amir in the ring

I don't quite think he meant in the ring...I think he meant generally in the profession no?

what's the difference??
Morning Dew
21-12-2005, 12:52 PM
Difference is: Naz doesnt want to have to fight Amir or any other Muslim in the ring but is glad there are more in the profession, bringing Muslims in to the "sporting" spot-light.

Naz will not fight again, he is over weight, unless he his thinking of fighting in at a much higher weight. Too me it seems naz is just looking for attention, not sure what he is planning but pretty sure it is not a comeback...
Muslims and boxing ???????
