Has anyone read the book called "Islam & the Destiny of Man" by Gai Eaton?
Particularly chapter 12...what are your views on it, if any?
Jazak'Allah

If you care to give an idea what chapter 12 is all about that would be appreciated, and it would be also informative.

It would also be informative if you care to provide your opinion, as you have read the book in question.

Unfortunately as it stands your post is irrelevant and a waste.

Salaam,

Well i was asking other Muslims opinion on this book, because it was suggested to me to use for my coursework on Life after Death. Just wanted to know if the author, Gai Eaton, is a relevant or even trustworthy Muslim source and if he's book is good at all?

Do a search on the Internet. Then you will know. (I know)

Well personally i thought it was excellent, still reading the chapter on the Akhirah (chap 12). He answers all the philosophical criticisms of Islamic belief, from an Islamic point of view.
Its great because it can help you answer back all these athiests, kuffr, and philosophers :D Especially for me know that i'm doing my A levels on this topic!

The author is a Muslim revert?

And does he talk about Muslims and their conduct in the west?

Its a good book but becareful Eaton is misguided in his view that all religions lead to salvation.

Here is a good article by Shaykh Nuh Keller on this issue:

http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/nuh/amat.htm

Gai Eaton, like Seyyed Hossein Nasr, is a follower of Frithjof Schuon. He has a very relativistic understanding of the various religions and believes they are all divinely ordained.
