I have a beloved Rucksack, dark blue, lowepro 45, which i used to take with me everywhere.
Its been my companion in all my travels in the last ten years, from the the peak of Ben Nevis, to the outskirts of the Sahara, from the seaports of south asia to the top of the Atlas Mountains. fom the rain forests in far east asia to the hundred metre deep tombs of the ancient pharoahs. From my office to the local super market.
Now...now it lies in my bedroom discarded. I can't take it anywhere now. Thanks to the london bombers.
Couldnt you have bloody used something else?

Police force frightened tourists off bus
July 26, 2005
NEW YORK: Heavily armed police swarmed a double-decker bus packed with tourists in Times Square on Sunday.
In a dramatic sign of the city's edginess since the London transit bombings, police evacuated buildings, shut midtown streets and forced about 60 terrified tourists to march off the double-decker bus, with their hands up, in the heart of Broadway.
Officers in riot gear handcuffed a group of apparently harmless South Asian-looking men with British accents after a jittery tour bus worker reported they seemed suspicious.
The men were forced to kneel on the footpath, with their hands bound behind their backs, in front of the Winter Garden theatre.
"People were really scared," Jill Sully, 29, said. Another passenger said she was "scared out of my mind."
The incident came just days after the New York Police Department stepped up security in the wake of the London attacks and began searching bags in the subway.
The five men in Sunday's incident were quickly freed after police determined they were just tourists.
"We just want to clear our heads of the whole thing," one of the men told New York's Daily News.
"We were humiliated enough," he said.
"We just want to go," added one of the other men.
The scare unfolded about 11.30am after a worker for a Gray Line sightseeing bus told the driver some of the passengers appeared suspicious.
"I was definitely frightened from the beginning," said the driver, Mohammed Stout, 43.
"That's human nature."
A Gray Line dispatcher called 911 and told police the men had backpacks and their pockets were "stuffed" -- a possible warning sign of suicide bombers, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.
Police then cordoned off Broadway to stop the vehicle.

ahem. so i've been told....... "
-flip, i am not amused. this is a blatant disregard for the facts. in truth, a can of beanz is much more expensive. if it was 6p, do you think i would still be making a profit on my sales? this is very bad, flip. whoever told you this is blatantly lying.

See-through 'freedom bags' offered to Tube commuters
JOHN INNES
A RANGE of see-through bags aimed at commuters left nervous by the London bombings was launched yesterday.
It is claimed the "freedom bags" will make passengers feel more at ease on the Tube, on buses and in public places.
The launch follows "noticeable distrust" towards people carrying rucksacks and large bags in enclosed spaces, according to the Assist Safety Project, which came up with the scheme.
The bags will help police carry out searches more quickly, the group said.
Prices range from £19.99 to £29.99. For every bag sold, 10 per cent will be donated to the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund to help those who suffered loss and injury in the 7 July terror attacks.
Each bag is made from clear vinyl, with mesh pockets and padded shoulder straps.
Bob Fitzjohn, director of the Assist Safety Project, said carrying clear bags would help passengers regain their confidence in public transport.
"If we all carry a bag that poses no threat whilst travelling on public transport, visiting a football or rugby match or just in a department store, we are giving the message that we are prepared to let others know that we're not a threat," he said.
The not-for-profit project was founded in 2003 to assist schools and parents.
